Chess South Africa Junior Championships 2006 (CHESSAJC2006) : Circular No.4
We would like to thank the Regions that responded timeously to all requests with regard to the previous Circulars.
PLEASE NOTE: Regional Committees are responsible for the duplication of all the information sent to the Region. Each administrator MUST be fully informed of all administrative and other arrangements as communicated in the circulars.
Please note the voting to change the time of the 2nd round per day has resulted in a favourable response to move the second round on days where two rounds are being played, earlier. As a result, the attached program has been amended to reflect the change to the earlier times for the 2nd round per day.
This year there will be official T-shirts which will be made available for purchase. These T-shirts are of a high quality, being manufactured by the approved supplier of the National sport clothes. However, in order to keep the costs down, we need to know more or less the quantum and sizes that most likely would be required. As such, we attach to this (as Annexure B), an order form. Ordering in advance will obviously also ensure that you will get one, as only a limited number will be produced to be sold at the tournament.
We would like to thank those Regions who has in fact either complied or indeed made an effort to comply in good time. The position as at 18 October was:

It is now becoming urgent for all to finalise their registrations. To ensure that the logistics team is well prepared for the Registration on 3 December, all accommodation is correct and the draws done correctly, we MUST get all registrations as soon as possible. All names and board orders MUST be finalized and send through by Sunday, 5 November 2006. but please do not wait for the 5th – send through asap.
You are reminded of the deadlines for submission of information (data captured using the special files) and deposits as per the overall timetable hereunder:
Also please note that all players MUST be paid up members of CHESSA for 2006. The players of Regions that want to participate must be on the CHESSA database files of 1 October 2006. Players whose details are not complete on the database or who failed to pay their dues for 2006 shall not be able to play for either the team or the individual championship sections of the Nationals.
The following bank details must be used for all monies deposited in respect of the 2006 tournament:
All payments (100%) MUST be paid into the above account no later than 17 November 2006. Any region with outstanding amounts will not be allowed to enter their teams in the Championships. This includes players who will only be participating in the Individual Championships only.
All regions that are in possession of any National trophies must return them to the Local Organizing Committee on the 3rd of December 2006 (during registration).
Please note that it is the responsibility of the region to ensure that:
Failure to return any trophies will result in your teams/individual players not being able to participate in the specific event/section.
In the past some of the Regions had banners and some not. Then also, those present were of different sizes and did not give an overall good impression (because of these differences). As such, we propose that the LOC will arrange for similar banners to be made for each of the Regions. These will be 1,800x800, displaying your Logo and name. It will cost R600 per Region. We appeal to all Regions to “order” these from Elana Theunissen.
We wish you well in your preparation for the Chess South African Junior Championships 2006.
Yours in chess
Banie van Vollenhoven
